September 10-11th Stand with Joplin concert, a partnership of giving between concert executive producer 417 Productions and concert philanthropy organization Unity For Foundation, supports Tornado relief and the rebuilding of Joplin.
On the 10th and 11th of September, Nashville and Hollywood will be converging on Joplin, Missouris Landreth Park, a 35,000 capacity venue to produce Stand With Joplin, a historic concert to raise funds , awareness, hope, and the beginning of a new life for those recently impacted by the tornado. The most destructive U.S. tornado series in the last half-century, with over 200 mph winds, killing 160 and destroying more than 7,500 homes, businesses and other structures. An area covering 30% of Joplin left in total destruction and its population in shock.
417 Productions, has partnered with Tisha Fein (Grammys, American Idol, World Music Awards, etc.), Unity Foundation, Sunset Pictures and sponsors such as American Airlines, to produce both a concert of relief and a fundraising celebration of the human spirit that is driving the people of Joplin to recover against massive odds.
The primary beneficiary will be the City of Joplins selected 501(c)3 foundation, The Community Foundation of Southwest Missouri (CFSWMO.org). CFSWMO will receive 100% of all sponsorships and donations; as well as 90% of all profits post recoupment of all production costs (exponentially lower than typical concerts). Other beneficiaries will include causes supported by the local Shriners and Soloman Lodge who will be handling sales of beverages and food. A full accounting of all production expenses and the destination and impact analysis of all donations will be available to the public on the StandwithJoplin.org and Unityfor.org websites as of the day of the show.
WARRANT will headline on day one (September 10th) with the rest of the line up showcasing the most talented bands from the region including Rick Banfield, Troy, Cruise Control, Caylor, Bykota, Worship, Waking Up Sleeping, The Jeremy Essay Group, Strong 68, Adam Stanly, Kevin, Foster, Head Change and Rhet Roberson.
Day two (September 11th) will be hosted by legendary comic Craig Shoemaker and will feature among others John Waite, Sam Moore, Reverend Ellis Hall, LIVEWIRE and Michael McDonald who is in discussions to play as well. Additional headliners include a very special surprise Country Rock Star and stay tuned as there are two major Star headliners being announced in the next few days!
Stand With Joplin anticipates a sold out show plus millions more via media extensions is now negotiating with never before seen performer combinations across an array of Nashville and Hollywoods most famous musicians many with Missouri roots!
While multiple acts are already confirmed and numerous others in various stages of discussion, headliners will be announced Friday and tickets will go on sale on that same day Headliners will be supported by the Unity All-Star Band comprised of A-list industry pros from Nashville and Hollywood including Anton Fig (Letterman show), Oliver Leiber (Rod Stewart), Orianthi (Michael Jackson), Scott Page (Pink Floyd, Supertramp), Reggie McBride (Stevie Wonder, Keb Mo) and Musical Director Martin Guigui
In partnership with the City our combined hope is to facilitate as much pro bono housing reconstruction and facilitate other projects to help make Joplin stronger, healthier, greener and more sustainable than ever. Together Stand With Joplin is working closely to do so in a manner sufficiently transparent and indicative of impact to inspire donors to give to their fullest capacity.
