This is a true and accurate account from my experiences meeting Michael Jackson. It is not meant to degrade or character bash him in any way. To a certain extent, I am still very much a fan of Michael Jackson. You must draw your own conclusions as to the true purpose or nature of me revealing this story. Either way, it’s all therapeutic for me and I’ve always wanted to share this, one of many amazing stories from my life.

Now don’t you go run and tell everyone what I’m about to mention to you. Only kidding…um, I think. Anyway, in the short 34 years of my amazing life, I have experienced a heck of a lot. So far my life has been one of fame, fortune and fun. I have also experienced many dangerous and perilous times in my life….the near death experiences, the confusion and the lack of peace. Ah, those were the days. I’ve come to learn that life is like a movie…you’re its star, there’s always someone watching and if you’re a "good guy," you always win.

I”ve also had the opportunity to meet and actually spend some valuable time with a lot of famous people. I’ve prepared for a scene with Oprah Winfrey, "read lines" with First Lady Nancy Reagan, performed on stage with "Mr. Television" himself, Milton Berle, played pick-up ball with Denzel Washington, slept over Nina Simone’s house, compared hand sizes with Mike Tyson, walked the halls of Muhammad Ali’s mansion, took a picture with Sidney Poitier, and even jammed on drums as Clarence Clemens from Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band blew away on his saxophone. I have been around, lol!

Now the ONE person I really got nervous about meeting was Michael Jackson. So here goes this story. I’ll try not to be too long so hold on to your coffee!

Alright, the photo above is a photo of when my father used to work for Joe Jackson’s (Michael Jackson’s father) music company (in the old Motown Building on Sunset Blvd.) back in the mid 1980′s. My dad was always trying to manage my career, his career, and just about anyone who would give him a chance to prove himself a true hustler—from The Bronx. He was a "mover and a shaker" as they say, and it always seemed like everyone knew my father. Somehow, someway, he ended up workin’ for the "King of Pop’s" pop.

I actually met Michael Jackson twice. The first time was at his home in Encino, California when I was about 11. My dad was good friends with singer Betty Wright at the time. Anyway, she ‘s the "Clean-Up Woman." She also had a short comeback in the late 80′s with a song called "No Pain, No Gain."

Betty wanted to drop a music demo tape off to Michael so I went along for the ride. I remember us waiting at the front entrance of his home (in Encino, California) and he actually came out to the running car to pick up the tape, lol. All I remember was that thick, big, red robe he wore and that high-pitched voice. Man, he and Diana Ross sure did sound alike! End of episode 1.

Gosh this is long already, I must write a book…I will right a book!

Episode 2. Jump cut to: I was 14, so 1985-ish. The Roxy on The Sunset Strip in Hollywood, California. The whole Jackson siblings are seated in the balcony to preview Joe Jackson’s hottest new kid group— an almost complete replicated version of The Jackson 5. The place is jumpin’ and I’m there, in the middle of it all.

Look, over there, oh snap! There’s my friend Alfonso Ribeiro, The Tap Dance Kid and hot off the Pepsi commercial he did with Michael. Boy, can he dance. He’ll always be Carlton from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" to some though.

Back to past tense.

Anyway, I had heard that Janet Jackson was there (in the balcony) and since we were friends from the show "Diff’rent Strokes," I asked Alfonso if he could take me up there to her and also introduce me to Michael…again! Like it wasn’t nothin’, and after getting through some heavy security, I arrived with Alfonso to that balcony…oh that balcony, I’ll never forget it! They were all there. Rebi, Latoya, Janet and the King of Pop himself–and all strangely giggling amongst themselves. Must’ve been "inside" jokes. They were like kids. I couldn’t believe my eyes, that I was in Michael’s presence, so I froze. Alfonso grabbed me and pushed me towards Janet as if he were forcing his best friend to go to the high school prom with his dateless sister. She didn’t notice me right away but guess who did? Michael screeched in a high pitched voice, "Oh I remember you, you’re on the show with Janet, right?" He called out to his sister, "Janet guess who’s here? it’s your little friend Dudley…" After Janet and I had a nice reunion, I got to meet Latoya and their other sister Rebi. Then, uh oh…the show is starting! (present tense) "What should I do?" I thought.
Lights out. Then, like a movie playing itself out:

Michael:
(to Shavar)
Come sit down, sit down, watch the show with us.

Chairs pull up. Hmmmm…how did Alfonso find his seat so quickly. "He’s been up here before" I thought. Michael surprisingly pulls up a chair for me! Wow, I’m stunned! Lights even darker now. Intro. Applause. Music. The show starts. Why it’s The Jackson 5 all over again. No where near as good though.

My only goal: To get one good look at Michael Jackson before the night is over! I am literally sitting RIGHT next to him and mind you, this was the mid 1980′s. Michael was HOT at the time. In between the strobe and spot lights, I glance at him. It’s unreal! I mean, HE’S unreal…literally. He had what looked to be the perfect face, yet so porcelain, so surreal. I got a bit scared and nervous.

For the whole set I just stared at him, in such awe of this man so famous to the world. I tried to figure out how his powerful influence could have so many people ridiculously in tears, sobbing and crying hysterically in his concerts.

For a brief moment, Michael must have felt me hawking my eyes at him. I just couldn’t help it.

Michael:
(to Shavar again)
Could you move to the left just a little bit. I can’t see.

He DID seem to really be enjoying the show….and that imitation Jackson 5 performing? I could care less! I was sitting next to Michael Jackson!

And lastly, to make a long story even longer, the boring show finally came to an end but surprisingly to an almost standing ovation! Standing ovation? What? Was Michael standing too? More giggles.

Smash cut to: Kid imitation Jackson 5 group coming up to the balcony to meet Michael! Michael inviting them to his home AND to Disneyland. Close up: Me hearing it all.

Silence. Waiting for my invite. Silence again. Nothing. No nice meeting you, no nothing. I turned my head for a quick second to look for Alfonso and the Jackson Clan had disappeared! Poof! Like right out of thin air! That’s when I realized that celebrities have an art to their grand exits. It’s all very stealth. Then the announcer said something to the effect that Michael, Janet, Latoya and Rebbie had "left the building." Depression, dejection, rejection and everything else you can fill in seem to settle into my 14 year old heart. I was devastated. Michael didn’t invite me to his DisneyWorld.

I finally found Alfonso. "You didn’t go?", I asked intently. "Why didn’t he invite us?" I hammered Alfonso again. "Oh ’cause we too old man…we teenagers now and if you over 12, he don’t like you no more," replied Alfonso. Alfonso laughed it off but I still didn’t understand him. It would take me nearly 20 years to understand what he meant and even now I am still not sure what he meant by that statement.

That night, and all throughout the entire night, I found myself sobbing hysterically to the point where I made myself literally sick to my stomach. I threw up several times and thought I was gonna die because I got to sit next to Michael Jackson.

In hindsight, maybe it was all for the best that I never got invited, who knows…(June 25, 2009, but may he now rest in peace).

June 26, 2009: Note: Just know that Michael Jackson inviting me to sit next to him beats Disneyland with a bunch of kids any day.

Michael Joseph Jackson. Biography
(August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American singer, dancer, and entertainer. Referred to as the King of Pop, he is the most commercially successful and one of the most influential entertainers of all time. His unique contributions to music, dance, and fashion, along with a highly publicized personal life, made him a prominent figure in popular culture for over four decades.

Alongside his brothers, he made his debut in 1964 as lead singer and youngest member of The Jackson 5, and later began a successful solo career in 1971. His 1982 album Thriller remains the best-selling album of all time, with Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991), and HIStory (1995) also among the world’s best selling albums. He is widely credited with having transformed the music video from a promotional tool into an art form with videos for his songs such as "Billie Jean", "Beat It" and "Thriller" making him the first African American artist to amass a strong crossover following on MTV. With stage performances and music videos, Jackson popularized a number of physically complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk. His distinctive musical sound, vocal style and choreography has inspired numerous pop, rock, R&B and hip hop artists and is credited with breaking down cultural, racial, and generational barriers.

Michael Jackson was born August 29, 1958 as the eighth of ten children in Gary, Indiana, an industrial suburb of Chicago, to an African American working-class family. His mother, Katherine Esther Scruse, was a devout Jehovah’s Witness, and his father, Joseph Walter "Joe" Jackson, a steel mill worker who performed with an R&B band called The Falcons. Jackson had three sisters: Rebbie, La Toya, and Janet, and six brothers: Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Brandon (Marlon’s twin brother, who died shortly after birth) and Randy.

Jackson had a troubled relationship with his father, Joe Jackson. He stated that he was physically and emotionally abused during incessant rehearsals, with whippings, and name-calling, though he admitted his father’s strict discipline played a large role in his success. In one altercation recalled by Marlon, Joseph held Michael upside down by one leg and "pummeled him over and over again with his hand, hitting him on his back and buttocks". Joseph would also grab his sons and push them with great force against the wall. One night while Michael was asleep, Joseph climbed into his room through the bedroom window, wearing a fright mask and screamed, in hopes to scare him. He said he wanted to teach the children not to leave the window open when they went to sleep. For years afterward, Jackson said he suffered nightmares about being kidnapped from his bedroom. Joseph acknowledged in 2003 that he regularly whipped Jackson as a child.

He showed talent early in his life, performing in front of classmates during a Christmas recital in kindergarten. In 1964, he and Marlon joined the Jackson 5 – a band formed by brothers Jackie, Tito, and Jermaine—as backup musicians playing congas and tambourine. Jackson later began performing backup vocals and dancing; at the age of eight, he and Jermaine assumed lead vocals, and the group’s name was changed to The Jackson 5. The band toured the Midwest extensively from 1966 to 1968, frequently performing at a string of black clubs known as the "chitlin’ circuit", where they often opened stripteases and other adult acts. In 1966, they won a major local talent show with renditions of Motown hits and James Brown’s "I Got You (I Feel Good)", led by Michael.

The Jackson 5 signed a new contract with CBS Records in June 1975, joining the Philadelphia International Records division, later Epic Records,[19] and renaming themselves The Jacksons. They continued to tour internationally, releasing six more albums between 1976 and 1984, during which Jackson was the lead songwriter, writing hits such as "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)", "This Place Hotel," and "Can You Feel It".

Jones and Jackson produced the Off the Wall album together. At the album’s pre-release party, Michael, himself, stated that Little Richard had a "huge influence" on him.Songwriters for the album included Jackson, Heatwave’s Rod Temperton, Stevie Wonder, and Paul McCartney. Released in 1979, it was the first album to generate four U.S. top 10 hits, including the chart-topping singles "Don’t Stop ’til You Get Enough" and "Rock with You".

Thriller and Motown 25 (1982–83)
In 1982, Jackson contributed the song "Someone In the Dark" to the storybook for the film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial; the record won a Grammy for Best Album for Children. That same year Jackson issued his second Epic album, Thriller, which surprisingly became the most commercially successful album of all time with nearly no promotion. The album remained in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 for 80 consecutive weeks and 37 of those weeks at the peak position. It was the first album to have seven Billboard Hot 100 top 10 singles, including "Billie Jean", "Beat It," and "Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’."] Thriller was certified for 29 million shipments by the RIAA, giving it Double Diamond status in the United States. It is the best-selling album of all time in the United States. It was, and currently remains, the best-selling album of all time, with 110 million copies worldwide.
ackson’s popularity would soar further. On March 25, 1983, he performed live on the Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever television special, both with The Jackson 5 and on his own singing "Billie Jean". Wearing a distinctive sequined glove, he debuted his signature dance move, the moonwalk, which former Soul Train dancer and Shalamar member, Jeffrey Daniel had taught him 3 years before. His performances during the event were seen by 47 million viewers, and drew comparisons to Elvis Presley’s and the The Beatles’ appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show.

In March 1991, Jackson renewed his contract with Sony for $65 million, a record-breaking deal at the time, displacing Neil Diamond’s renewal contract with Columbia Records. He released his eighth album Dangerous in 1991.

In May 1994, Jackson married singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis Presley.

n 1995, Jackson merged his ATV Music catalog with Sony’s publishing division creating Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Jackson retained half-ownership of the company, earned $95 million upfront as well as the rights to even more songs. He then released the double album HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I. The first disc, HIStory Begins, was a 15-track greatest hits album, and was later reissued as Greatest Hits – HIStory Vol. I in 2001, while the second disc, HIStory Continues, contained 15 new songs. The album debuted at number one on the charts and has been certified for seven million shipments in the US. It is the best-selling multiple-disc album of all-time, with 20 million copies (40 million units) sold worldwide. HIStory received a Grammy nomination for best album.

During the Australian leg of the HIStory World Tour, Jackson married dermatology nurse Deborah Jeanne Rowe on November 14, 1996 in an impromptu ceremony close to his Sydney hotel room.

In October 2001, Jackson released Invincible. This was his first full-length album in six years, and it turned out to be the last album of new material he released while still alive. The release of the album was preceded by a dispute between Jackson and his record label, Sony Music Entertainment.

In March 2009, Jackson announced in a press conference at London’s O2 arena that he would perform there in major comeback concerts titled This Is It. The shows were to be Jackson’s first major series of concerts since the HIStory World Tour finished in 1997, and had been cited as one of the year’s most important musical events with over one million people attending in total. Jackson suggested possible retirement after the shows; in his own words it would be his "final curtain call". Although initially a 10 date concert, it was increased to 50 dates after record breaking ticket sales. Jackson rehearsed in Los Angeles in the weeks leading up to the tour under the direction of choreographer/director Kenny Ortega. The concerts would have commenced on July 13, 2009 and finished on March 6, 2010. Less than three weeks before the first show was due to begin in London and with all concerts being sold out, Jackson died of a cardiac arrest.

On June 25, 2009, Jackson collapsed at his rented mansion at 100 North Carolwood Drive in the Holmby Hills district of Los Angeles. Attempts at resuscitating him by his personal physician were unsuccessful. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics received a 911 call at 12:22 p.m, arriving three minutes later at Jackson’s location. He was reportedly not breathing and CPR was performed. Resuscitation efforts continued en route to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, and for an hour after arriving there at 1:13 p.m. (20:13 UTC).He was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. local time (21:26 UTC)

Not the Michael Jackson people are searching for at the moment.

Apart from the entertainment industry, Jacko’s dead has been a interesting time to observe the magic of social media and search engine results. Specially the wins and the fails. Tons of sites went down with the huge load of surfers checking out the news. Twitter crashed for a while.

Google thought people were trying to attack it, so it displayed the message for half an hour : "We’re sorry, but your query looks similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spyware application"

The searches for the Simpson’s episode from 1991 containing the song "Lisa Its Your Birthday" also increased manifolds. Who can forget this classic conversation :

Homer Simpson : How do you do that thing with your feet?
Michael Jackson : You mean the moonwalk?
Homer Simpson : No, that thing with your feet.

Michael Joseph Jackson (born August 29, 1958) is an American recording artist, entertainer, and businessman. The seventh child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene at the age of 11 as a member of The Jackson 5 and began a solo career in 1971 while still a member of the group. Referred to as the "King of Pop" in subsequent years, five of his solo studio albums have become some of the world’s best-selling records: Off the Wall (1979), Thriller (1982), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995).

In the early 1980s, he became a dominant figure in popular music and the first African-American entertainer to amass a strong crossover following on MTV. The popularity of his music videos airing on MTV, such as "Beat It", "Billie Jean" and Thriller—credited for transforming the music video into an art form and a promotional tool—helped bring the relatively new channel to fame. Videos such as "Black or White" and "Scream" made Jackson an unduring staple on MTV into the 1990s. With stage performances and music videos, Jackson popularized a number of physically complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk. His distinctive musical sound and vocal style influenced numerous hip hop, pop and contemporary R&B artists.

i’m proud to say that our moma astrup fearnley purchased this porcelain marvel by jeff koons for 51 million kroner. that’s 18 million euros. isn’t it great? it’s the biggest porcelain statue in the world. i love jeff koons, he’s a crazy . the museum also have this huge photo of his wife – italian pornstar and politician (yes! it’s true! she was even in the italian parliament!) ilona staller – sucking his dick in a saccharine wonderland full of plastic flowers while he’s standing up tall going ah! against the clear blue sky.

kitch art aside, let’s talk about michael jackson!

after alena and jenko and i started rappin about mj i’ve become somewhat obsessed with the pop genius nutcase, i’m in the midst of a 700 page long biography and i’m watching youtube videos all day. my neighbours are now accustomed to my frequent "eee-heee!’s and "cha’mone!" eruptions.
so you just like billy jean and some other hits? you mostly associate him with this white ghost maniac who morphes himself on a monthly basis, and snuggles with boys and dangles his children from balconies? well now the time has come for you to delve into his back catalogue! let me open my magic fedora and say CHA’MONE MOTHERFUCKERS!!

(well, first of all i want you to see this video from the MTV 1995 music awards. i have seen it a dozen times and i still laugh every time i see it because it’s just so damn cool)

okay. now that your jaw is open, let’s go:
(links removed, but you won’t have a hard time finding these albums)

off the wall (1979)
this is his fifth album but normally considered his debut. the opening cut is "don’t stop til you get enough", and if you don’t like that song i can’t help you, please check out my other stuff like the nietzsche chocolate or those kids with blue tounges or some of my more generic stuff. this album features michael’s best singing and i think it’s a nice place to start.

thriller (1982)
oh i think you’ve heard of this one. it’s only the most-selling album of all time! 104 millions. jesus christ. remember how everyone and their grandmother bought that shitty californication album by the red hot chili peppers? well, that sold 15 millions. this album is full of hits. literally, actually: only two songs on thriller were not top 10 singles. at this point mj was the biggest pop star since elvis, and when you see his groundbreaking music videos it’s not hard to see why.

bad (1989)
okay, this is where mj began to go crazy. i mean… bad? you’re a street punk now? you wear black leather and chains? you’re WHITE now? no michael, just no. but at the same time, yes! because this album contains more eee-hee than any of the others and i loves me some eee-hee. cha’mone.

dangerous (1991)
i think this is a very underrated album, his 3rd best after off the wall and thriller. the beats are completely off the hook. i was amazed at how modern the sound is, more often than not it sounds totally contemporary, like something timbaland wishes he did (this specifically goes for the second cut. damn). anyway, it contains jam and black or white. and err, heal the world. at this point i’m so into michael that i can actually stomach heal the world! well at least until the second octave raise where the children come in. so i guess i can’t entirely stomach it, but i don’t hate it

it’s time to dance. put on your black brogues, sparkling socks and slick fedora.
and don’t forget your sequined glove! eee-heee

.

(Diddy talking)
I remember the first time i seen you moonwalk,
I believed I could do anything,
you made the world dance,
you made the music come to life

(Chris brown – Chorus)
This the type of song that make the angels cry,
i look up in the sky and i wonder why?
why you had to go, go
and I know its better on the other side,
you were chosen from the start
never gon let you go,

(The Game)
Whos Michael Jackson,
Your Michael Jackson,
Im Michael Jackson,
We all Michael Jackson,
I guess what Im asking is everybody bow their head for a legend
dont breathe for a second,
now let the air out, grab the hand of somebody you care about,
so you can hear my message, my confession,
someone tell Usher, i seen the moonwalk,
i guess the young thriller touched him,
like he touched me, like he touched you,
so carry on his legacy, something i must do,
and i trust you lighting candles, concrete visuals,
me and my brothers listen to jackson 5 in the living room,
first thing i did when i heard was call puff,
cos him and Mike tried to stop the beef between us,
who was us? Me and fifty,
that beef is dead, him and Mike Jackson gonna take us to the ledge.

(Chris brown – Chorus)
This the type of song that make the angels cry,
i look up in the sky and i wonder why?
why you had to go, go
I know its better on the other side,
you were chosen from the start
never gon let you go,

(The Game)
As Im pouring out this liquor candles start to flicker,
when list my air ones, MJ was my nigger.
Not the one that play ball, the one with the hollywood star,
and since im a hollywood star imma tell you my story,
never had a family that close,
never see Barry Gordy walking through interscope,
just like me they always had Mike in a scope,
no matter what you say,
imma love him and he’s still dope,
let me take you back to 85 when i was in a zone,
dancing for my momma thriller jacket with all the zippers on,
now im doing 90 bout to crash in this Aston,
listening to Outcast, Im sorry Mrs Jackson
anything i can ever do to better you
your son was our king so we wont Corretta you,
Im writing this letter to all the Jackson kids,
we all Jackson kids, time to let us through.

(Chris brown – Chorus)
This the type of song that make the angels cry,
i look up in the sky and i wonder why?
why you had to go, go
I know its better on the other side,
you were chosen from the start
never gon let you go,

(Diddy talking)
people can say what they wanna say ’bout you
and you dont remember the miracles that you showed us
to you music, to your dance
you are the one that made us all realize that we are the world
you are the one that showed us that we can moonwalk
you gave us the beat, you gave us the rythem, you gave us the soul
to us your legacy lives on
you cant stop now, you wont stop now
Mike Jackson

(Chris brown – Chorus)
This the type of song that make the angels cry,
i look up in the sky and i wonder why?
why you had to go, go
I know its better on the other side,
you were chosen from the start
never gon let you go,
its from my heart

This is the kind of song that make the angels cry,
i look up in the sky and ask God why?
This is the kind of song that make the angels cry,
i look up in the sky and ask God why?

Michael Jackson in-person autograph
Michael Jackson

This is the autograph Michael Jackson is seen signing in the accompanying photo; I still have it. He signed it on the palm of his hand and the mark to the left of the signature is where the pen’s pressure initially poked the tip through the paper to his hand when he first started signing it. Since the pen poked through the paper, he had to start again with lighter pressure.

My friend Donald Liggett, who is seen in the next photo as Michael hands him the freshly-signed autograph, first asked Michael to sign a $20 bill because, while we had a pen, we didn’t have any paper. Michael said he couldn’t sign money because it was illegal to deface currency, so Don dashed inside the hotel and got a piece of blank hotel stationery. He tore the piece of paper in half when the young girl from England (who is also seen in some other photos with her family) said she wanted an autograph, too. This autograph was signed on the other side of the top half of that piece of hotel stationery. If you turn it over it has "The Kahala Hilton" (the hotels name) and address at the top.

Don handed me the autograph after he got it from Michael, as a gift. Don passed away in 2008 of cancer.

NOTE: Beware of people on ebay "selling" this autograph. They don’t have it, and it is not for sale. Also beware of people forging copies of this signature on to Michael Jackson photographs and other items. Autograph fraud is rampant.

Michael Jackson molests Zack’s toothbrush.
Michael Jackson

A few months after I took this picture of naughty Michael Jackson I had this dream:

It was my birthday and my parents had rented out this huge venue for some kind of show. About 300 random people I’ve known throughout my life were sitting in chairs in front of a stage. Zack and I were walking around and greeting everyone. Suddenly Michael Jackson shows up with his entourage. He’s there for my birthday! Zack is very pissed off. He doesn’t like Michael and doesn’t want him there. Michael seems to have a previous knowledge that Zack is going to hate him, so he brings him a present. It’s a toothbrush! Michael makes a big deal about giving Zack this toothbrush. Zack grudgingly accepts the gift. Michael flounces off. Cut to Zack and I at home later. He’s pulled the toothbrush out of the box and is brushing his teeth with it. Suddenly I remember seeing Michael earlier in the day walking around with the toothbrush in his mouth. The same toothbrush.

I woke up laughing and told Zack about it. He didn’t appreciate the dream nearly as much as I did.

Alan Light with Michael Jackson (photo #1 – Michael’s eyes closed)
Michael Jackson

After we took this photo Michael turned to me and said that he blinked, and suggested we take another one.

Photo taken at the Kahala Hilton Hotel, early February 1988 – Michael Jackson was staying there for 3 days and I saw him 8 times during those 3 days .

This evening he ventured out alone with Jimmy Safechuck, a boy he was traveling with who was appearing in Pepsi TV commercvials with him at the time – After this photo Michael said "I think I blinked" and suggested we take it again, which we did.

Scanned from the original 35MM film negative.

I found this information on the internet about Jimmy Safechuck:
"Jackson met Jimmy Safechuck during the recording of the Pepsi commercial in 1988. Jimmy was 10 years old, from California. He dressed in the same clothes as Jackson. He enjoyed the singe’s complete attention, and went on tour with him. Jimmy’s parents received a Rolls Royce worth $180,000, and afterwards, a Mercedes Benz each. Reasons why their friendship ended are unknown."

Second photo – this time Michael has his eyes open.

Photo taken at the Kahala Hilton Hotel, early February 1988. Scanned from the original 35MM film negative.

Me with Michael Jackson and Jimmy Safechuck, a 10-year-old boy Michael was traveling with and the boy who was appearing in a Pepsi TV commercial with Michael at the time.

Peter Pen:
" I have a place where dreams are born,
And time is never planned.
It’s not on any chart,
You must find it with your heart.
Never Never Land.

It might be miles beyond the moon,
Or right there where you stand.
Just keep an open mind,
And then suddenly you’ll find
Never Never Land.

You’ll have a treasure if you stay there,
More precious far than gold.
For once you have found your way there,
You can never, never grow old."

Flash Mob : A Dance Tribute to Michael Jackson, Liege
Michael Jackson

"A flash mob (or flashmob) is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse."
This is the Wikipedia definition. In this case, this tribute to Michael Jackson, with people dancing on the song "Beat it" was carefully planned and repeated many times.

"Un flash mob, terme anglais traduit généralement par foule éclair ou mobilisation éclair, est le rassemblement d’un groupe de personnes dans un lieu public pour y effectuer des actions convenues d’avance avant de se disperser rapidement." (Wikipedia).
Dans le cas de cet hommage dansé à Michael Jackson, sur la chanson "Beat It", l’événément était soigneusement planifié et fut répété plusieurs fois. Je suis curieux de voir le résultat sur film.

Michael Jackson is Not Dead
Michael Jackson

This tribute to Wacko Jacko was performed a couple of weeks before he died, as part of the Southend Festival. The teenage girls danced to "Smooth Criminal" at the top of the High Street. I found it rather ironic that scantily clad schoolgirls were prancing around to music by a child molester.

Cropped from a Mamiya 135EF print off Kodak Gold 200, Canoscan 8400F.

Michael Jackson performs at his own Memorial Service
Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson pays tribute to Michael Jackson during his own Memorial Service at the Staples Center, Los Angeles .. as per Pollstar.

Saw this in an email sent by the concert notification website Pollstar. After Google proved that Michael Jackson is a Zombie, this story continues the saga. (Also see ‘Selling Michael Jackson’s soul for 150 bucks‘)

In another note, I just saw Stevie Wonder about a week ago at the Montreal Jazz Festival 2009, which turned into a Michael Jackson Tribute concert. He played the same song at the Staples Arena today.
